Second, and
unlike most other DNS providers, we do not use BIND
- we created our own software to run our Dynamic
DNS and related services. BIND, the Berkeley
Internet Name Domain system, was developed at
University of California at Berkeley as a graduate
student project. It's free and many other DNS
service providers use BIND. According to the SANS
Institute, BIND is one of the biggest security
vulnerabilities on the Internet. The TZO DNS
servers are compliant with all appropriate
specifications, however they are not susceptible to
the same kind of attacks that have crippled many
BIND servers.
