Using the TZO web server to share MP's, movies, files

Using the TZO webserver to share your MP3's, Movies and files with others on the Internet.

Not everyone has their own web server running 24/7, but there are times when you want to share a folder on your PC that contains media such as files, movies, MP3's and more. This tutorial shows you how to share a folder and all subfolders using the TZO web server in Folder Listing Mode. By following this tutorial, you will be able to configure the TZO web server to point it to a folder that contains your media and files you want to share. If it's pictures you want to share, you should follow the SHARING PHOTOS tutorial. Please note that if you have a router or firewall, you need to open the proper ports on your router so others can access your server. To see how to open ports in your server, please see our router pages for tutorials

To publish a simple website with your files, movies, MP3's:
Before you start, you want to first select a folder to share. For example, on my C: Drive, there is a MP3 folder that holds all of the MP3 music on my computer. Let's say I want to share the MP3's with a friend on the Internet. *Please Note: TZO does not condone sharing copywritten or illegal material. We believe that artists have a right to be paid for their music, programs, artwork, etc. Please do not use TZO to illegally share copywritten material or programs.

Step 1) The first step is to start the TZO 2.1 Client application and go to the Web Server tab, then click the Settings tab as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 2) Set the TZO web server MODE to FOLDER LISTING as shown in the screenshot below

Step 3) Now set the FOLDER to the folder containing the files you wish to share with others. In this case, we are sharing the C:\MP3 directory as shown in the screenshot below. Once you set the folder, click the APPLY button.

Step 4) That's it! Now it's time to test the server. Click on the TEST TZO WEB PAGE button as shown in the bottom left in the screenshot above. This will launch your default web browser, and will test the TZO web page. When you push this TEST TZO WEB PAGE button, TZO will go to the localhost or 127.0.0.1 address (Your computers internal loopback IP) This is what visitors will see when they visit your page. You should see a listing of files and/or subfolders in the directory you wanted to share. Visitors simply click to navigate folders and click to download files, MP3's, Movies, text files, Zip Files, Doc files and much more, Any file you want to share can be shared this way.
