Setting a Static LAN IP Address on your Linksys NAS200

Step 1) It's important that if you plan on accessing your NAS200 remotely you set a static LAN IP address on the NAS200. In this example, we have our NAS200 behind a Linksys WRT54GS router. The default IP address range on the Linksys Router is 192.168.1.1

In order to set a static IP, we suggest an IP address of 192.168.1.200 or higher. By setting the IP of the NAS200 at 192.168.1.200 or greater, you avoid IP conflicts with DHCP IP ranges and if you ever have a power outage and the NAS200 reboots, your NAS200 will not change IP's.

Note: If you do not have a Linksys router, or your LAN IP range is different from 192.168.1.1, set the NAS200 to a Static IP address according to your network layout.

In order to set the Static IP address, you must log into the NAS200 using your browser, or using the Setup Wizard that came with the NAS200. Below we show how to set the IP using your browser.

Step 2) Log into the NAS200 by going to http://IPAddress (where IP Address is the IP address of your NAS200) and then clicking on the ADMINISTRATION LOGIN button as shown circled below. In this case, we connected to http://192.168.1.200

Step 3) You will be prompted for your username and password as shown in the screenshot below. (The default username is blank and password is admin)

Step 4) You will be presented with the main Status Screen as shown below. Click on the SYSTEM OPTIONS link on the left menu as shown circled below:

Step 5) You will now be presented with the system options screen as shown below. Click on IP ADDRESS as shown.

Step 6) You will now be presented with the IP Address and DNS information. This is where you set the IP Address. Set the IP address to 192.168.1.200 (pending this IP is not already used on your network and your router IP is 192.168.1.1)

IP ADDRESS: 192.168.1.200
Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS should be set to 192.168.1.1

Step 7) Click the SAVE SETTINGS and you can then log back into your NAS200 using the IP address of 192.168.1.200

** If you have trouble reaching your NAS200, please double check the IP Address you set and make sure that your network is setup with the same network range. If you cannot gain access to your NAS200 please run the NAS200 Setup Wizard to gain access to your NAS200 again and set the IP address accordingly.
