The first part of this tutorial will be to
setup your server with TZO Dynamic DNS, and setup
TZO as a web server in normal HTML Mode. We will
also setup FileZilla FTP server to accept incoming
connections to our root folder of our website.
Follow below to complete these steps and get your
blog running:
SERVER SETUP - Step 1)
Create a directory on your server
called c:\blog. Create this directory on the same
system where you plan on hosting the Blog HTML
files. In this case, we created c:\blog
SERVER SETUP - Step 2) Download TZO Here - Install
TZO on the dedicated server where you made the
c:\blog directory
Download and install TZO on the "server" you are
planning on using. The server can be any PC in your
home or office that stays up and running all the
time. This server will also be attached to a cable
or DSL line or some other Internet connection.
Install TZO using the defaults for
installation. Once the install finishes, TZO will
start automatically. When it asks for a TZO Key,
put in your TZO Key or you can choose the 10 or 30
day free trial. You should now select your
domain name and then when the screenshot
appears as shown below, select ENABLE FOR
NORMAL HTML PROCESSING. You should also
set the FOLDER to C:\Blog as we created earlier in
step 1. Set the default to
INDEX.HTML and the port to
80 as shown below:

Once you have your TZO Web Server settings
screen set as shown in the screenshot above, click
the FINISH button in the bottom right corner. You
can continue or skip the port detection and then
your server will be started and running. The TZO
Domain name will also be pointed to your IP address
where your server is running.
SERVER SETUP - Step 3) Open port 80, 20 and
21 in your router and point to your servers IP
address. If you don't have a router, you
can skip this step. If your port 80 was detected as
blocked by TZO, you can If you don't know how to
setup or forward ports in your router, you can
check out the TZO
Tutorials for details on
opening/forwarding ports on your router.
SERVER SETUP - Step 4) You
now need to download and setup the FTP
Server. Download the
FILEZILLA SERVER from the FileZilla site
at Sourceforge. Make sure you download the Win32
version. Set the FileZilla server up on your system
using the defaults. As soon as you finish the
install, the server will run automatically. Once
the server starts you will see a screenshot similar
to the one shown below. Click OK to
connect to the server to administer the
server and add accounts

SERVER SETUP - Step 5) You
now need to configure the FileZilla FTP
Server. Once you see the main FileZilla
screen, click EDIT, USERS as shown in the
screenshot shown below:

SERVER SETUP - Step 6) You
now need to add a user to the FileZilla FTP
Server. Once you see screenshot as shown
below, click the ADD Button as shown circled in
red

SERVER SETUP - Step 7) Add
a user to the FileZilla FTP Server
(Continued). Once you see screenshot as
shown below, type in the name of the user you wish
to add. This will be the username of the individual
that is updating the blog. In our example, bob will
be our user updating the blog. Once you are done
typing in the username, click OK
