Using TZO Dynamic DNS with
your EmergeCore IT-100
|
| |
You
can now use TZO with your EmergeCore IT-100. This
tutorial explains how to configure your EmergeCore
IT-100 with TZO Dynamic DNS. You must have the latest
firmware from EmergeCore to use the TZO DDNS service
within the appliance. Version 3.0.3 is the latest
version. |
| |
|
| |
The
first step is to configure your EmergeCore IT-100
using the Express setup guide that came with the
appliance. As you can see in step one, you need to
LOG IN to your appliance for the first time using
your web browser. Follow the steps below along with
your express setup guide, and your Dynamic DNS and
domain name will be configured and ready to use in
under 2 minutes! |
| |
|
| |
Step 1) You should follow the
directions in the express setup guide until you get
to the screen that is asking for your DOMAIN NAME as
shown below. |

Step 2) You can now proceed and
click the NEXT button to create a domain name. Before
you create your domain name though, you need to sign
up with a free trial of TZO DDNS. If you already have
a free trial, or already have a current TZO account
and a domain name, please skip to the step

|
| |
Below is a screenshot of the http://EMERGECORE.TZO.COM signup page
where you need to go to sign up with a free trial for
your Emergecore IT-100. You should enter in your
choice for your domain name, and then your email
address, and TZO will send you a trial key
immediately. Once you get this email, you should
write down your TZO DOMAIN name, and your TZO Key
before proceeding. |

Step 3) Now that you have
your TZO Domain name written down, and your TZO key,
you are ready to proceed and create your domain as
shown in the screenshot below. When we signed up for
the free trial, we selected the domain name
LAB2.MYITINABOX.COM |
| |
|
| |
We
now want to enter that domain name in as shown below.
DO NOT USE THE WWW when entering in the domain name.
In our example, we entered in lab2.myitinabox.com,
and then selected a username and password. Once you
check the domain name to make sure you entered it
properly, click the NEXT button as shown in the
screenshot below. |

You can use all of these services with your TZO Trial

on your server, and click the UPDATE button and
continue using the EXPRESS SETUP GUIDE that came with
the unit. Once you finish the express setup guide,
continue on to the next step 5 in this tutorial to

You
now have your domain name resolving to your WAN IP
address on the IT-100, and should be able to use your
server once you finish configuring the WEB, FTP and
EMAIL servers. This is required only if you selected
to run these services as described in Step 4 above.
Keep in mind that if your ISP blocks port 80, you can
use the TZO Web Forwarding service to run your Web
Server on an alternate port. This service assists
your visitors when finding your website since the
port redirection is handled by TZO and not the end
user - a much easier website to remember! |
| |
|
| |
TZO
also has Email Store and Forward and OutBound Mail
Relay services to assist in your Mail Server issues,
blocked inbound and outbound port 25 issues and more.
Please see the TZO website for more details on these
additional services at http://www.tzo.com |
