Changing
your DNS records to TZO nameservers
|
|
• |
TZO Dynamic
DNS will work fine with domains registered elsewhere.
We do not require you to transfer your domain records
to us. |
| |
|
|
• |
Domains
registered elsewhere simply need the domain record
updated so your domain's Authoritative Nameservers
are TZO's. Typically you perform this step in your
Registrar's Control Panel (or contact their
Support). |
|
|
|
|
• |
If your
domain is a .tzo.com (or other TZO name) OR you
registered your domain with TZO, we have already
configured your domain records so there is nothing
for you to do. |

TZO customers
should be using these
nameservers: |
| |
NS.TZO.COM
|
NS2.TZO.COM
|
NS3.TZO.COM
|
NS4.TZO.COM
|
NS5.TZO.COM

108.59.160.140
|
108.59.164.100
|
108.59.170.10
|
108.59.166.200
|
108.59.168.70

Expect
a time delay
TZO's DNS servers have very short cache times, so as
soon as your IP address changes, TZO will respond
with your correct IP address. However we can only do
this if the requests are actually coming to TZO's
nameservers. Other DNS servers on the Internet may
have cached your previous nameserver address, so it
is possible some servers will continue to look to
your old nameserver, which of course does not have
your current dynamic IP address.
The lag time for your top-level domain's records to
work itself out of the cache of DNS servers could be
anwhere from 24 to 72 hours. This caching occurs on
third party servers, so there is nothing you (or TZO)
can do accelerate the process. |
